Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with Ambulatory Care experience across Level I–III, based in Minnesota. Roles include prescription entry, unit-dose preparation, and non-sterile compounding, with duties in inventory, customer service, and training staff and students.

Candidates must meet Minnesota Board of Pharmacy education/experience criteria, pursue or maintain CPhT/NHA/PTCB certifications within specified timelines, and may be enrolled in a Pharm.D. program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1040 hours of pharmacy technician experience
• Pharmacy Department orientation and one of Essentia Pharmacy Department training programs within 6 months
• Pharmacy technician certification via PTCB or NHA within 2 years (or be a pharmacy student)

Responsibilities

• Accurate computer entry and processing of prescriptions
• Prepare unit dose medications and non-sterile bulk compounds
• Inventory control and care of supplies/equipment
• Handle cash and customer service in person and by phone
• Assist the pharmacist in daily department activities and training of staff/students
• Billing, record keeping and monthly audits
