Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Texas Center for Athletes in San Antonio is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to provide safe, professional care in the circulating or scrub role.

You will oversee OR setup, assist with anesthesia, manage patient care and documentation, and support a seamless transition between procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center. Hospital-affiliated benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license required by state of employment or compact licensure.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, ambulatory surgery center preferred.
• BCLS certification required; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required by facility.
• PALS preferred, but may be required at some facilities.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the instrument and equipment setup for your OR, including utilisation of preference cards and ability to anticipate your surgeons needs.
• Coordinate and oversee your room during a case as the circulator.
• Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures.
• Utilise appropriate body mechanics in moving your patients to stretchers and OR tables to prevent injury.
• Manage your patients care and medication, including assistance with anesthesia.
• Consistently review your charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure.
