Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for Ambulatory Services in the Austin area. You will evaluate patients before and after surgery, educate patients and families, and help prepare for procedures with IV therapies and preoperative medications.

You will participate in surgical site verification and follow universal protocols, recognizing emergencies and delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care alongside an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN with relevant licensure and active practice in ambulatory settings.
• BCLS certification within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in perioperative or ambulatory care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively and coordinate care with the surgical team.
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Assist with surgical site verification and universal protocol compliance.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies during care.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and other staff to optimize care workflows.
• Document patient condition changes accurately and thoroughly.
