Position Overview

Reporting to the Associate Administrator of the Solid Tumor Division in the Department of Oncology, the Ambulatory Operations Manager oversees outpatient clinical operations for the Department of Oncology and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Service Line. Responsibilities include developing new programs, enhancing existing processes, and monitoring performance through balanced scorecards. The role involves daily oversight of outpatient clinics, managing budgets, staffing, and fostering a positive work environment. The manager collaborates with clinical staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and works on community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily outpatient operations at Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus and other sites
  • Develop and implement clinical practice policies and workflows
  • Supervise staffing, recruitment, training, and staff evaluations
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and address complaints
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Provide regular reports on clinic performance metrics
  • Participate in hospital committees and meetings
  • Coordinate with HR for staffing and personnel issues
  • Develop and update clinic policies and procedures
  • Support financial management and revenue enhancement activities

Physical and Supervisory Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift 15 pounds
  • Supervises clinical and administrative staff including supervisors and coordinators
Compensation and Additional Information

Salary Range: $31.96 to $55.95/hour, commensurate with experience.

Work Location: Baltimore, MD. Hybrid schedule (3-4 days onsite, 1-2 days remote).
