Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced ambulatory oncologic nurse to deliver care to adults with hematologic and oncologic diseases. The role requires applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license with a BSN preferred, and have at least 2 years of nursing experience. CPR is required, ACLS/PALS may be needed depending on the center.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Two (2) years nursing experience preferred.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• BMTC may be acceptable for specific positions; ACLS/PALS may be required in Hazle-rig-Salter Radiation Oncology Center.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional ambulatory nursing care to adult patients with hematologic and oncologic diseases.
• Demonstrate specialized oncology/chemotherapy knowledge and skills.
• Coordinate activities of other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
