Job summary

Duke Health Cary – Oncology Clinical Pharmacist is a key clinician in the Oncology Services Division, providing specialized clinical pharmacy services to ambulatory hematology/oncology patients at the Cary campus.

The role balances clinical duties (about 80%) with administrative tasks, including education of medical staff, participation in committees, and opportunities to contribute to research and resident education.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.
• Extensive knowledge of drug products, medical therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and disease states.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with health care team members.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-depth clinical pharmacy services to ambulatory adult hematology/oncology patients.
• Educates medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff about management, prescribing and monitoring of therapies.
• Serves as a resource to the Department of Pharmacy for area(s) of expertise.
• Participates in departmental and hospital committees and initiatives related to practice area.
• Contributes to student and resident education.
