Job summary

NEBRASKA HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY (NHO) is seeking a Medical Oncology Advanced Practitioner to plan, direct, and evaluate oncology patient care in ambulatory services; examine and treat chronic and acute illnesses, order labs, and write prescriptions within protocols and equipment. The Advanced Practitioner may also work with provider colleagues in care of hematology and oncology patients.

The APRN or PA-C will work with physicians to provide medical care, perform exams, order tests, prescribe

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Program.
• Medical Oncology experience preferred.
• Current clinical and professional experience within NP/PA scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Should be knowledgeable in advanced health assessments and decision-making.
• Works independently and with physicians to provide medical oncology care.
• Sees ambulatory patients for exams, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within scope.
• Coordinates referrals to support groups and health promotions.
• Collaborates with staff to identify patient needs and plan care.
