Job summary

Zelle is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Oncology team in Holdrege, Nebraska. You will assess, diagnose, and manage patients across clinic and outpatient settings, exercising within credentialed scope and established guidelines.

Experience in oncology is preferred, but strong interest and recent APRN/PA graduates with clinical acumen will be considered. Demonstrated collaboration with physicians and teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure to practice as APRN in the applicable state.
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC) preferred.
• Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification preferred or required based on clinical assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patient care across clinic and outpatient settings.
• Obtain detailed patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans.
• Prescribe therapies and make referrals as appropriate.
• Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, rounds, and maintain documentation.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational projects.
• For Emergency Department work: evaluate/ manage ED patients and respond to rapid response activations.

Job Summary

Zelle is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Oncology team. While oncology experience is preferred, we welcome experienced advanced practice providers with a strong interest in specializing in oncology. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and manage patients across clinic and outpatient settings while practicing within established clinical guidelines and credentialing privileges.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain detailed patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.

Assess, diagnose, and manage patient care, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.

Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe therapies, and make appropriate referrals.

Coordinate hospital admissions, discharges, rounds, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care.

Perform or assist with routine clinical, therapeutic, and minor procedural interventions.

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, committees, and organizational projects.

Provide compassionate, evidence-based care within established scope of practice and credentialing privileges.

For Emergency Department assignments:

Evaluate and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.

Collaborate with and consult on-call physicians regarding patient care and emergency situations.

Respond to Rapid Response and Code Team activations as available.

Supervise cardiac stress testing as needed.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and ability to practice as an Advanced Practice Provider in the applicable state.

National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC preferred).

Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.

Current BLS certification required.

ACLS certification preferred or required based on clinical assignment.

PALS, NRP, and ATLS certifications may be required depending on patient population and practice setting.
