Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks an experienced nurse leader to serve on the ACU triad, overseeing daily nursing operations and driving improvement in patient care and transition services. The role partners with the Clinical Nursing Director to guide practice, staffing, and quality initiatives across ambulatory care units.

The position emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and accountability, with a focus on standardizing processes and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• BSN required; or ASN/diploma with MSN.
• Minimum of five (5) years RN experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years in ambulatory/primary care leadership.
• Nurse leadership certification within two years of start (CNML/NE-BC) and maintenance encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, counsel, discipline, and evaluate nursing staff with input from leadership and faculty.
• Lead nursing recruitment: postings, interviews, hires in collaboration with triad leadership.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, vacations, and orientation for nursing staff.
• Provide direct nursing leadership and practice direction for RN and licensed personnel.
• Drive clinical governance, quality, and adherence to standards and guidelines.
