Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; enrolled in a master’s program within 36 months of hire.
• Master’s degree preferred; if not in nursing, a BSN may be required.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state; BLS.
• Certification in NPD or specialty area preferred; BLS Instructor or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years nursing experience; Two years of staff development/health care education experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consult for guideline development and setting practice standards in ambulatory care.
• Conduct systematic learning needs assessments across ambulatory clinics to identify competency gaps.
• Build competency-based pathways for clinical support roles aligned with ambulatory standards.
• Serve as ambulatory clinical SME to reduce practice variation while accommodating site needs.
• Translate quality and safety data into targeted learning interventions; track trends.
• Oversee multiple ambulatory clinics across divisions to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Collaborate on standing orders, clinical protocols, and education standards.
• Facilitate education and integration of standards for consistent care.
• Maintain documentation to promote clinical excellence and licensure scope compliance.
• Support emergency readiness and staff competency expectations including med safety.
