Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Ambulatory Nurse Clinician for the North Region. This full-time float role covers Glenview and other North Region clinics; you will perform patient assessments, nursing interventions, and education, using nursing process and collaboration with teams. Schedule includes 4, 10-hour shifts Tuesday through Friday.

Mileage reimbursement and float differential are provided. RN licensure in Illinois and BLS are required; current ambulatory or acute care experience is

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse licensure in Illinois.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR certification.
• Current experience within past five years or new nursing graduate within past two years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in medical records.
• Execute routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, meds admin, vital signs, and specimen handling.
• Interpret abnormalities, document interventions, and escalate as needed.
• Triage calls and prioritize patient needs using clinical assessment skills.
• Coordinate care with other departments and external agencies as appropriate.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education for patients and staff.
• Assist in education and outreach within hospital and community settings.
