Job summary

USPI South Plains Endoscopy Center seeks a motivated PRN Medical Records Clerk to join our team. The role involves assembling and maintaining patient health information for outpatient GI procedures, ensuring records are complete, identified, and signed.

Weekdays only with no holidays, weekends, or call; some early mornings or later evenings may be required depending on the surgical schedule. This position supports physicians and staff by managing requests, audits, and dictations to ensure

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital/ ASC medical records experience.
• Knowledge of AAAHC Standards.
• Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paced demand.
• Show a genuine desire to work and improve the center as a whole.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner.
• Must be able to adhere to facility's financial and admitting policies.
• Ability to promote positive relationships with patients and staff.
• Must know insurance verification and collection processes.
• Must have problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Professional appearance.
• Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain patient health information in medical records and charts.
• Ensure all paper and electronic records are complete, properly identified and signed.
• Copy, retrieve, and track medical records requests.
• Assemble charts for peer reviews and conduct daily chart audits.
• Track dictations and follow up with physicians regarding missing dictations.
