Job summary

The Duke Health System Clinical Laboratories seeks a Medical Lab Technician II to support Ambulatory Services, specifically Urgent Care. You will perform routine tests, maintain equipment and ensure timely, accurate results in a fast-paced lab setting.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch. A $5,000 commitment bonus is offered for a 1-year commitment, with certification in MLT within 18 months and an AA/AS degree required.

Qualifications

• AA or AS degree required.
• Certification as MLT within 18 months.
• Experience with lab information systems helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tests in clinical laboratories using standard techniques.
• Label specimens and prepare them for analysis.
• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Perform waived Point-of-Care testing as assigned.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment and record results.
