Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician II to support Ambulatory Services, specifically Urgent Care. You will perform routine tests, prepare specimens, and ensure quality control in a CAP-accredited, CLIA-certified lab.

The role requires attention to detail, good communication, and ability to work with clinicians. A minimum AA/AS degree and MLT certification within 18 months are required; a $5,000 commitment bonus is available for 1 year.

Qualifications

• AA or AS degree; CLIA director may modify minimum requirements as needed.
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician within 18 months

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical lab tests using standard techniques.
• Prepare specimens, calibrate equipment, and maintain records.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture, heel, or finger stick.
• Perform Point-of-Care testing waived tests and urinalysis.
• Interact professionally with doctors and nurses to provide technical guidance.
• Maintain quality control and QA documentation.
