Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Clinical Program or six months of clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support certification or obtain within three months.
• Two years of medical office experience (preferred).
• Bi-Lingual (preferred).
• Experience with electronic medical record systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Controls and monitors patient flow to maximize efficient use of providers and exam rooms.
• Prepares medical records for patient visits, confirming accuracy with patient identifiers.
• Exhibits a high degree of customer service in all patient interactions.
• Provides a safe, comfortable, and clean environment for patients and families.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for provider visits.
• Ensures patient and personal safety and completes fall risk assessments as needed.
• Prepares exam rooms and assists with exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Records vital signs and medications, and notes patient pain levels.
• Performs specimen collection and Point of Care testing as ordered.
• Performs quality checks on equipment and assists with arranging diagnostic testing.
• Supports billing with CPT/diagnosis codes and chart documentation.
• Ensures outside paperwork is scanned into EMR and processes referrals.
• Stocks and rotates medical supplies in clinic rooms and manages inventory.
• Participates in unit-specific quality improvement projects.
