Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join ambulatory care teams in the Los Angeles area. You will participate in patient care, recognize signs and symptoms, and provide support during emergencies.

The role includes basic administrative, clerical and technical tasks, with backing for Primary and Specialty offices. You will demonstrate proficiency in CPR, venipuncture, injections, vital signs, medical terminology, and using computerized care systems, while maintaining compassionate

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited MA school.
• Documentation of MA program completion from an accredited program (ASSCS, ACCET, CAAHEP or ABHES).
• Documentation of national MA certification (CMA/NCCT/AMT).
• Experience/instruction in injections, venipuncture and skin tests (minimum 10 hours each).
• Ability to administer CPR and manage emergencies.
• Knowledge of normal/abnormal symptomology and life-threatening problems.
• Ability to administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications.
• Ability to use computerized patient care systems and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in ambulatory settings and support during emergencies.
• Perform basic administrative, clerical and technical supportive services.
• Support the Primary and Specialty offices in daily operations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist in office workflows.
