University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to participate in ambulatory patient care, recognizing signs and symptoms and supporting during emergencies. You will perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical duties as needed, including vital signs, injections, and venipuncture using electronic patient care systems.

Competenze

• Must have a medical assistant diploma or certificate or national certification.
• Documentation of completing an accredited medical assistant program (ASSCS/ACCET/CAAHEP/ABHES).
• Documentation of national certification for medical assistant (CMA/NCCT/AMT).
• Completion of a MA program with hands-on injection, skin testing, venipuncture, and intramuscular/subcutaneous/intradermal injections.
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and life-threatening medical problems.
• Ability to administer CPR.
• Ability to administer oral, IM, and subcutaneous medications.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and adhere to OSHA PPE safety.
• Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and manage drug refills.
• Assist in emergencies and office procedures.
• Operate computerized patient care systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Interpersonal and verbal communication skills for patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to coordinate referrals and maintain inventory.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and work standards.
• Ability to manage task flow and patient scheduling.
• Familiarity with procedures such as audiometry, spirometry, O2 levels, skin tag/mole removals, ear lavage, and minor procedures.
• Ability to perform quality control and waived tests.
• Knowledge of safety when handling biohazardous specimens.
• MSDS and emergency treatments knowledge.
• Punctuality and attendance.
• Maintaining a harmonious work environment and customer service.
