Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the St. Vincent Medical Center Ambulatory Care Center to provide direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision.

The role requires a High School/GED and enrollment in an MA program within 30 days, plus MA certification within 12 months (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) or ABR-OE. Experience in externship or 1 year MA is preferred. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days employment is required.
• Active Medical Assisting certification required within 12 months of start date (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) or ABR-OE acceptable where MA cert not possible.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, and information in medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain information and measure vital signs.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and prepare them for testing.
• Explain treatments, medications, and instructions to patients.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
