Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an ambulatory care setting. Under supervision of a physician/provider and/or RN, you will assist with exams, venipuncture, vaccines, vital signs, and patient education.

You may float to other sites within the system, ensuring smooth patient flow and adherence to safety standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year of ambulatory care experience required; externships acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient preparation for examinations and with minor procedures.
• Provide clerical support and documentation in the EMR; support patient services coordination.
• Perform venipuncture, vaccine administration, vital signs, and basic testing per site needs.
• Float to other MedStar Health sites as needed to ensure patient flow.
• Participate in team huddles and safety protocols; support care coordination and patient education.
