Job summary

MedStar Health seeks a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician or NP. This role includes venipuncture, vaccine administration, vital signs, and support for patient exams and scheduling.

The position may float to other sites within the system. Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, coordinating patient flow, and providing clerical support.

Qualifications

• Clinical competency verified within 90-day orientation and annually thereafter.
• Excellent customer service/patient interaction skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient preparation for examination and with exams.
• Performs clerical support and serves as backup for Patient Services Coordinator.
• Participates in team huddles and reviews scheduled patient visits.
