Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under supervision of a physician or nurse. Duties include venipuncture, vaccine administration, vital signs, and assisting providers with exams and documentation.

The role may float across sites within the system. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an MA program preferred, with 6 months ambulatory care experience and CMA/RMA licensure

Qualifications

• Clinical competency verified within orientation and annually.
• Excellent customer service and patient interaction skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient preparation for examination and minor procedures.
• Performs point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as directed.
• Documents activities accurately in the patient's EMR and maintains logs as required.
• Floats to multiple sites within the system and supports team as needed.
