Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate from a recognized medical assisting program or a HS diploma/GED plus 1 year MA experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to collaborate with others, communicate effectively, and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider at an ambulatory health care site with visits and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, stocking supplies and ensuring readiness.
• Room patients and manage efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
