Job summary

UC San Diego Health in San Diego’s ambulatory network is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Team to support clinic operations, schedules, and patient flow across sites.

Under supervision of clinic staff, you’ll perform tasks requiring medical terminology knowledge and assist licensed personnel. Must be CMA or MA program cert, BART or BLS at hire with plan to obtain BART within 6 months, and be willing to travel to North County and other clinics, including occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and handle patient system screens.
• Accurate billing and environmental care functions.
• Equipment and supply management; cleaning/disinfecting of environment.
• Willingness to travel to North County and other clinics as needed.
