Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park seeks a Medical Assistant for the Ambulatory Float Pool to support multiple outpatient clinics. You will partner with the clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care across Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Primary Care, and more.

The role involves direct patient care under supervision, vital signs, EKGs, vaccines, and accurate record-keeping. Day shift, 40 hours per week, with travel to offsite locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR training.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in a community health setting.
• Graduation from CMA-recognized program.
• Graduate of a CMA credentialed program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as delegated by RN/physician.
• Record vital signs and document patient information.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer vaccines and conduct tests (e.g., EKGs, urinalysis).
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Assist with patient education as delegated by RN/physician.
• Operate within Nursing policies and procedures.
