Job summary

Geisinger offers outpatient Certified Medical Assistants a $3,000 sign-on bonus paid over two years. The role supports physicians in an ambulatory setting, performing direct patient care and extensive administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations.

The ideal candidate is a CMA or RMA with an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification from NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA. A HS diploma/GED and 1 year of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Certification by NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support for physicians in outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients and collect vitals, document in EMR, and maintain patient safety and privacy.
• Perform EKGs, wound care, minor procedures and assist provider as needed.
• Administer medications per policy after competency validation and prepare lab specimens.
• Coordinate receptionist and clerical duties, scheduling, referrals, and pre-authorizations.
