Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic, part of UHS, is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support ambulatory care operations in Riverside, CA. The role involves patient assessments, procedures, and collaborative care under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
• Graduate of accredited LVN program.
• One (1) year previous experience in an ambulatory care setting.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• IV certification.
• ACLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records prior to visits to ensure chart readiness for physician.
• Interview patients; measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height) and record on chart.
• Prepare treatment room for examination; assist physician with procedures; sterilize equipment after use.
• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and their families to gain cooperation and understanding.
• Administer treatments and perform routine laboratory tests under supervision.
• Initiate intravenous lines and add/adjust IV fluids under physician direction (IV certified).
• Complete documentation to ensure accurate medical records and verify orders are carried out.
• Inventory and order medical supplies and materials as needed.
• Dispose of expired sample medications and patient supplies as required.
• Operate within the LVN scope of practice and Riverside Medical Clinic policies.
• Provide functional/technical assistance to Medical Assistants.
• Maintain current California LVN licensure and BLS certificate.
