Sentara Health in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support providers in an ambulatory clinic setting. The role rooms patients, collects health information, administers medications and immunizations, and assists with examinations and procedures.

The LPN will document in the electronic health record, coordinate patient flow, and educate patients with follow-up instructions. A valid LPN/LVN license and BLS are required, with 1–2 years of ambulatory experience

Formación

• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program leading to LPN/LVN eligibility is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in an ambulatory or physician practice setting is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assists providers and registered nurses in delivering direct patient care in the clinic setting.
• Rooms patients, measures vital signs, and records health information in the electronic health record.
• Administers medications and immunizations within the LPN scope of practice.
• Collects blood specimens and performs simple diagnostic tests as ordered.
• Prepares patients and treatment rooms and assists with examinations and procedures.
• Provides patient education and follow-up instructions within scope.
• Supports patient flow and processes messages and refill requests under provider direction.
• Directs the day-to-day work of medical assistants and aides as assigned.
• Follows infection prevention and safety standards consistent with DNV and CMS requirements.
