Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Ambulatory Float Pool. You will provide clinical support across ambulatory clinics, perform injections, take vitals, document care in the EMR, and assist with procedures.

Two years of direct patient care, BLS, and a current LPN license are required; prior medical office experience preferred. This full-time role offers 32 hours weekly with day shift coverage and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in applicable state required.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of practical nursing required.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• Applicants should have a minimum of two years direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care or arrange appropriate care for patients.
• Appropriately documents all patient care interactions in the medical record.
• Participates in telephone triage by obtaining data and advising patients per protocols.
• Ensures laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and results presented to the provider.
• Pre-visit planning with provider and care team.
• Medication administration, including injections.
• Check vital signs, height, weight.
• Assist with reviewing medication history and updating medication list.
• May assist with health maintenance requirements.
• Assists providers during procedures and examinations and cleans instruments/rooms.
• Follows standard precautions and regulatory standards (CLIA, TJC, etc.).
• Reports patient condition and reaction to the provider.
• Assists with patient inquiries for refills, appointments, and referrals.
• Participates in electronic documentation of care and may enter orders in EMR (CPOE).
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and in-office diagnostics; maintains QC.
