Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care to pediatric and adult patients across multiple specialties including Plastics, Gynecology, Thoracic, Breast, Endocrine, Bariatric and Liver/Pancreas. Under supervision of the RN or assigned supervisor, the LPN collects data and contributes to care planning.

Requirements include graduation from a practical nursing program or passing the LPN boards, valid LPN license, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards.
• One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to unpredictable situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric and adult patients under supervision of RN or assigned supervisor.
• Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist RN/provider in patient assessment and care planning.
• Participate as a member of the health care team and deliver care per the patient care plan and policies.
