Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Performance Horse Veterinary Assistant to join their ambulatory team. You will provide direct support to one veterinarian, delivering high-quality care for equine patients and exceptional client service in the field.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations and procedures, preparing equipment, maintaining medical records, handling and restraining horses, and supporting the veterinary team in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• Equine experience preferred in performance or racetrack medicine.
• Previous veterinary assistant, animal handling, or equine experience required.
• Ability to safely handle and restrain animals in a field setting.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarian during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain patient medical records and documentation.
• Assist with veterinary vehicle cleanliness and readiness for field service.
• Support client billing and related administrative tasks.
