Job summary

Qualifications

• CPC certification required with specialty certification aligned to the assigned coding area.
• Five years of professional fee coding experience required.
• Experience abstracting and coding CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS in multiple settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts/codes for assigned providers/division per medical record documentation.
• Utilizes coding software and resources to determine correct codes.
• Communicates billing issues to supervisor and participates in meetings to improve billing.
• Mentors and assists in training other coders and new team members.
• Resolves pre-billing edits and identifies training opportunities.
