Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Coding Specialist to abstract and validate CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes across inpatient, outpatient and physician settings. The role requires adherence to coding/compliance guidelines and up-to-date payer guidelines.

You will mentor coders, participate in training, and contribute to improving pre-billing accuracy. Day shift, located at Oconee Medical Campus as part of Medical Group Coding & Education Services.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• Five years professional fee coding experience.
• CPC certification required; Specialty certification per assigned specialty.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts/codes for assigned provider(s)/division based on medical record documentation.
• Adheres to all coding and compliance guidelines.
• Mentors and assists in training other coders and new team members.
• Resolves assigned pre-billing edits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
