Brown University Health in Providence, RI is seeking a Pharmacist to interpret, evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications in ambulatory care under supervision. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious pharmacotherapy and oversee technicians.

Responsibilities include validating orders, communicating with prescribers, educating patients, and contributing to quality improvement and safety programs.

Formación

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy with active Rhode Island license or 90-day temporary license.
• ACPE Immunization Certification and American Heart Association BLS within 6 months of start.
• 2–3 years of related experience in a healthcare environment.
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems, EHRs and dispensing technology.

Responsabilidades

• Applies pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic principles to ensure safe and effective use of medications.
• Reviews orders for therapeutic appropriateness considering patient status and concomitant therapy.
• Contacts prescribers to maximize efficacy and cost-effectiveness.
• Provides patient education and participates in education of healthcare staff.
• Oversees and reviews work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff.
• Participates in quality improvement, adverse event reporting, and safety initiatives.
• Performs immunizations or medication administrations as applicable.
