Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Assistant for the Olathe Medical Pavilion. The role focuses on facilitating smooth patient flow, assisting with visits, taking vital signs, organizing rooms, and ensuring supplies are stocked.

You will greet patients, register them, support charting in MyChart, and serve as a clinic chaperone when needed, working with clinicians to provide courteous, accurate service.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• At least 6 months of Health Care or clinic office job-related experience, or enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedules tests; obtains films and reports.
• Assists physicians and/or nurses to room patients, obtain vital signs, set patient up on MyChart and report findings to medical assistant or RN.
• Collaborates with members of the health care team to assist in obtaining outside records prior to or during clinic visit as delegated by the medical assistant, RN, or physician.
• Maintains medical records; distributes reports and correspondence; files, photocopies, and processes forms (e.g. FMLA and Short-term disability paperwork) related to medical charts.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures par levels of supplies are maintained; checks and completes required logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, emergency/crash carts, suction and other required checks.
• Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; and answering phones.
• Performs in the role of chaperone during sensitive examinations or when requested.
• Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents in medical record.
• Assist in the transport of patients.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
