Job summary

NYU Langone Health, located in New York, NY, is seeking an Ambulatory Care Nurse (FGP) for Manhattan, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, to support coordination, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies.

You will perform exams, collect health history, document in the EHR, educate patients, administer medications, provide wound care, and triage. You’ll supervise LPNs/medical assistants and participate in quality improvement with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required for hires after 9/1/25).
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Collect patient health history.
• Record information in electronic health record.
• Provide information, counseling, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans.
• Administer medications, provide comprehensive wound care, and perform patient triage.
• Assess and monitor patient responses to treatments and procedures.
• Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine treatment plans.
• Direct, supervise, and delegate to licensed practical nurses and medical assistants.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement activities.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote collegial relationships.
