Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in software and computer systems.
• Experience with medical office terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and directs phone calls from patients and physician offices.
• Schedules patients for treatment by multiple providers and treatment areas, and arranges associated tests and procedures.
• Prioritizes appointments to foster optimum patient care and efficient use of staff, equipment, and facilities.
• Handles urgent patient care calls and may alert providers to emergent symptoms.
• Greets patients for scheduled and urgent appointments and procedures.
• Verifies patient demographic and insurance information; collects co-payments when applicable.
• Obtains signatures of consent for treatment and insurance/billing information.
• Collaborates with insurers for pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
• Performs related administrative and clerical duties and prepares reports as requested.
• Maintains accurate records and complies with policies and health and safety regulations.
