Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Billing Coordinator / Coder to manage day-to-day outpatient billing and coding across the network. You will abstract data using ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS guidelines and query physicians when needed.

This on-site position requires at least one year of coding experience, strong medical knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. You will collaborate with patients, insurance providers, and physicians to ensure accurate charges and timely

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of coding for professional services.
• Strong understanding of physiology, medical terms and anatomy.
• Proficiency with typing, accuracy and computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information in patient records for submission to physician billing service.
• Verify patient insurance and liaise with patients regarding charges and billing inquiries.
• Ensure receipt of authorization/referral and completion of forms.
• Analyze documentation and identify deficiencies.
• Assign CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes for reimbursement and data collection.
• Maintain productivity and coding quality as per compliance.
