Job summary

Forsyth County Department of Emergency Services is seeking dedicated Paramedics to join our team. Paramedics provide advanced medical care, transport patients to medical facilities, and respond to emergencies with professional judgment.

Required are EMT-Paramedic certification (NC), a high school diploma or GED with EMT experience or an associate's degree, and a valid NC driver's license. A higher education level may substitute for part of the experience; ongoing training is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year EMT experience or an associate's degree in emergency medical care.
• Certification by the NC Department of Human Resources Office of EMS and the NC Board of Medical Examiners as an EMT-Paramedic required.
• Must have a valid NC driver's license. Higher education level may substitute for all or part of the experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced medical care and transportation to patients.
• Drive an ambulance and respond to emergency calls.
• Maintain ambulance, equipment and supplies in proper working order.
• Demonstrate independent judgment in diagnosing patient conditions and delivering care.
• Interact professionally with patients, families and the public.
