Job summary

DrFirst is seeking an Ambient Listening Engineer to join our Provider Solutions, eRx Retail team. You will design, build, and operate ambient audio capture, transcription, and structured output for clinical workflows.

You will work on real-time pipelines, integrate ASR/NLP models, and ensure privacy and security in a remote-first environment. The role emphasizes hands-on building in a small, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering shipping end-to-end systems.
• Experience with real-time or streaming audio pipelines and ASR/NLP.
• Backend skills in Python, Go, or Java; comfortable across the stack.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and container deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ambient audio capture and streaming pipelines.
• Tune speech-to-text, diarization, and noise suppression in clinical contexts.
• Build services to convert audio into structured data for downstream systems.
• Collaborate with product and design to prototype solutions quickly.
• Ensure reliability, latency, and accuracy with production monitoring.
• Uphold privacy and HIPAA-compliant data handling.
