Job summary

Onterris in Deer Park, NY is seeking an Ambient Field Technician to collect data outdoors, often in a hardhat, rather than in an office. You will support air monitoring activities across environments and travel up to 50%.

The role requires a high school diploma through a bachelor’s degree, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot ambient air testing equipment. Compensation ranges from $24 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, deployment, testing/sampling of air monitoring activities.
• Independently and effectively assemble, operate, and troubleshoot ambient air testing equipment.
• Ensure project preparation is complete before going into the field; this includes preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, and calibration.
• Practice safety methods and procedures, and report all potential dangers, hazards, or unsafe work practices to the supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Assist with laboratory, shop, and equipment maintenance.

A Day in the Life

As an Ambient Field Technician, you’ll get hands‑on experience collecting data while spending most of their time outdoors in a hardhat rather than in a cubicle

The compensation range for this role is $24 to $28/hr., commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Assist in preparation, deployment, testing/sampling of air monitoring activities
• Independently and effectively assemble, operate, and troubleshoot ambient air testing equipment
