Onterris is hiring an Environmental Field Technician - Stack to perform outdoor data collection and stack testing to ensure emissions compliance. The role requires working in industrial settings, with travel and overtime opportunities offering additional income.

Qualifications

• Overnight travel up to 75% or more for multi-weekday projects.

• DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection requirements.
• Flexibility for weekend travel or work on several projects per year.
• Transferable field/laboratory/maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow established testing methods and procedures for reliable source testing.
• Conduct field tests at customer sites with professionalism.
• Record data on datasheets accurately and completely.
• Prepare glassware, perform cleaning, repair, calibration and fabrication tasks.
• Set up monitoring equipment on a smokestack.

A Day in the Life

As an Environmental Field Technician - Stack, you’ll be responsible for collecting data and spending most of your time outdoors in a hard hat rather than in a cubicle. In simple terms, stack testing involves measuring what is coming out of an industrial exhaust stack to make sure emissions meet environmental regulations. This role offers a strong path toward long-term career growth and advancement opportunities. Overtime opportunities can provide meaningful additional income. The compensation range for this role is $23.50 to $28.00 per hour.

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Follow established testing methods, procedures, and processes to help support consistent and reliable source testing

• Perform field source tests at customer locations with professionalism

• Record test data ensuring information on datasheets is complete and accurate

• Project preparation: glassware preparation, cleaning procedures, repair, calibration, and fabrication

• Set up monitoring equipment on a smokestack

• Capacity for overnight and local travel for multi-weekday projects up to 75% of the time or more

• No experience necessary

• Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to obtain a DOT medical certification and OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation

• Flexibility is a must as the position may require weekend travel or work for a few projects during the year

• Transferable experience: laborer, construction, industrial maintenance, mechanical, laboratory, environmental, field science, etc.

• Ability to work in outdoor industrial settings, including climbing to and working on elevated platforms (50ft - 300ft) in accordance withOSHA/ANSIandother applicablesafetystandards

• Often works outdoors and may be exposed to hot and cold environments and extreme weather conditions, including sunlit, rainy and windy conditions
