Job summary

TechPerm Incorporated seeks an experienced Amazon Connect Developer to design, implement, and optimize AWS Connect solutions for SSA modernization. The role will work with business owners and engineering teams to deliver secure, compliant contact-center capabilities.

Required are 7+ years in enterprise environments, 3+ years with Amazon Connect, and strong skills in Node.js, Python, or Java, with on-site work in Woodlawn, MD. Candidates must obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

Position Title: Amazon Connect Developer

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust

Summary:

We are is seeking an experienced Amazon Connect Developer to support enterprise modernization and contact‑center transformation initiatives. The candidate will design, implement, and enhance AWS Connect solutions that improve customer experience and align with SSA.gov policies, security requirements, and operational workflows. This role requires deep technical expertise with AWS services and the ability to collaborate closely with business owners, system integrators, and operational teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy Amazon Connect capabilities to support SSA business processes, including IVR, call routing, messaging, and automated workflows.
• Implement new functionality or modify existing applications, forms, policies, access controls, and interfaces within AWS Connect and supporting AWS services.
• Analyze current operations and provide recommendations for process optimization, technology improvements, and platform enhancements.
• Support ongoing maintenance activities, ensuring continuity, stability, and alignment with new requirements or system upgrades.
• Facilitate requirements gathering with SSA stakeholders, producing clear documentation, workflows, and technical specifications.
• Develop solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, Lex bots/NLP, Kinesis, DynamoDB streams, SNS, EventBridge, AppSync, and other AWS services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with SSA standards, change‑management processes, and technical governance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of SSA mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting large enterprise environments.
• Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience with the AWS Cloud platform.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on development experience with Amazon Connect.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using Node.js, Python, or Java.
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing call routing and messaging solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Must be able to work on‑site in Woodlawn, MD.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree and 10+ years related experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years related experience; or 18+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive experience in IVR, Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), skill‑based routing, and live chat‑based solutions.
• Proven ability to document process flows and technical procedures.
• Experience with AWS Glue, VPC configuration, Kinesis Firehose, Service Catalog, and advanced data streaming technologies.
• Prior experience supporting federal government programs or operating in high‑availability enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of change‑management, testing methodologies, and release processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
