Job summary

Sheraton McKinney Hotel is seeking a Full-Time AM shift Restaurant Server. You will provide courteous and efficient service, take orders, serve food and beverages, and create a welcoming dining environment.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, inputting orders, upselling, maintaining tables, processing payments, and collaborating with kitchen staff for smooth operations. Prior hospitality experience and knowledge of safety standards are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or related experience.
• Alcohol awareness certification and familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
• Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
• Ability to understand and comply with proper ordering and food handling techniques and state and local serving guidelines.
• Process guest checks and collect payments in compliance with cash handling, credit card transactions, room charge processing and accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and seating guests as they arrive and guiding to tables.
• Take orders, note special instructions and dietary restrictions, input orders.
• Serve food and beverages and ensure accurate presentation to tables.
• Know menu items, ingredients and specials; offer recommendations.
• Upsell appetizers, sides, desserts and drinks to enhance dining experience.
• Maintain clean and properly set tables with utensils, glassware and condiments.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, attentive manner and resolve concerns.
• Present bills, handle payments and process transactions accurately.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff, bussers and other servers for smooth service flow.
• Follow sanitation and hygiene standards and safety practices in dining area.
• Assist with special events, parties and catering as needed.
