Job summary

Palm House is seeking an AM Line Cook to join our luxury hospitality team in New York. You will prepare and cook breakfast and morning items to high culinary standards, maintain kitchen organization, and ensure health and safety compliance.

The role requires focus on quality, presentation, and timely service with attention to detail. You will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook or similar role in a hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast and morning menu items according to standardized recipes and Palm House culinary standards.
• Ensure all dishes are consistent in quality, portion size, presentation, and flavor.
• Assist with mise en place, including chopping, portioning, and preparing ingredients prior to service.
• Monitor food quality and freshness throughout the shift, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times.
• Assist in setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for morning service.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of dishes.
• Communicate effectively with fellow cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to coordinate service and resolve operational issues.
• Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Foster a positive, professional, and cooperative kitchen environment.
• Support the preparation and presentation of menu items that reflect Palm House’s standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Respond promptly to special dietary requests or modifications with accuracy and professionalism.
• Contribute to a seamless breakfast service that enhances overall guest satisfaction.
