Job summary

City of Spokane Valley is hiring a full-time Custodian for the Facilities Maintenance department to perform a variety of custodial duties across city facilities. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with a focus on providing clean, safe environments for staff and the public.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of custodial experience, along with strong safety and customer service skills to support internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least two years of custodial experience.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and ability to follow safety policies.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial functions to keep buildings clean and safe.
• Clean and disinfect kitchens and restrooms; restock supplies.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors; dust surfaces; sanitize high touch areas.
• Empty trash/recycling; dispose of waste per protocols.
• Monitor supplies and place orders as needed.
• Inspect facilities for safety hazards and report repairs.
