Job summary

Loyola University New Orleans seeks a Director of Alumni Engagement to lead campus alumni relations, plan Commencement, and coordinate volunteer and fundraising efforts. The role reports to the Vice President of University Advancement and guides programs engaging alumni, parents, and friends.

The position requires significant travel, evening/weekend work, and collaboration with multiple university offices to support recruitment, events, and donor relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum seven years of professional work in alumni/volunteer management, university relations, or fundraising.
• Strong organizational abilities and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to plan sequential and concurrent programs and manage events.
• Experience supervising exempt and non-exempt staff.
• Willingness to travel and participate in evening/weekend activities.
• Understanding and commitment to the Ignatian mission of Loyola University New Orleans.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee Commencement and alumni engagement activities.
• Lead the Alumni Engagement team and supervise staff and programs.
• Partner with Advancement leadership on fundraising and engagement campaigns.
• Forecast expenditures and manage office budgets and event revenues.
• Represent the university on committees and at events locally, nationally, and internationally.
• Develop programs to engage alumni, parents, and other constituents.
• Coordinate with Enrollment Management and Student Affairs on recruitment and solicitation efforts.
• Oversee alumni associations and chapter activities and recruit volunteers.
