The Alumni Communications Project Assistant (project assistant) supports communications projects within the UOAA under the direction of the Director of Alumni Communications. The project assistant is responsible for assisting with the successful delivery of assigned projects with the UOAA and stakeholders and supports the use of standardized project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
Reporting to the Director of Alumni Communications, the project assistant processes requests from UOAA staff for communications support, develops project timelines, and follows up with internal stakeholders to support the successful and timely completion of marketing and communications projects.
Additionally, this position supports the day-to-day use of the UOAA’s project manager software, organizing and maintaining project information, project blueprints, and request forms. They improve the abilities of UOAA staff via project management training and technical support. The project assistant is also responsible for documenting and organizing project management processes under established guidelines.
This position requires the ability to balance short-term or urgent requests for assistance against long-term goals and projects, as well as the ability to prioritize requests within guidelines and priorities established by the Director. The project assistant position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the UOAA.
