Job summary

CMC seeks an Aluminum Trader to manage commercial execution, pricing, market intelligence, and strategic relationships within the Aluminum Commercial Organization. You will provide insights that drive decision-making and collaborate with Plant Commercial on supplier-growth initiatives.

The role requires evaluating counterparty risk, developing pricing strategies, and aligning commercial decisions with facility capabilities. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Why This Job

The Alumninum Trader is responsible for commercial execution, pricing, market intelligence, consumer development, and strategic relationship management within CMC's Aluminum Commercial Organization. The role provides market insight and commercial guidance that support decision-making across the business while partnering with Plant Commercial to support supplier-development and growth initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Drive commercial execution by negotiating sales, managing consumer relationships, developing new market opportunities, and structuring agreements that maximize company value
• Deliver market intelligence by monitoring pricing, supply-demand dynamics, competitive activity, and emerging risks, then converting those insights into clear pricing recommendations and stakeholder guidance
• Support supplier relationship development by partnering with Plant Commercial on supplier-growth initiatives, identifying sourcing opportunities, and aligning commercial decisions with facility capabilities and business objectives
• Protect the business through risk and compliance discipline by evaluating counterparty and commercial risk, partnering with Credit, Environmental, Legal, and other subject matter experts, and escalating material concerns when appropriate
• Build organizational capability by strengthening role clarity, knowledge transfer, commercial process discipline, and team development needed to support a world-class aluminum commercial organization

What You'll Need

• A broad knowledge of marketing/sales is critical with prior experience with negotiation strategies.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships to drive results
• Apply external perspective and maintain knowledge of the segment’s competitive environment, market conditions, customers, and profit drivers
• Ability to travel as required

Your Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
