Contract Industrial Tooling (C-I-T) in Indiana is seeking a full-time aluminum TIG welder to join our shop. You will set up GTAW equipment, weld to drawings, and work across flat, vertical, and overhead positions while maintaining tight tolerances and clean welds.

You will interpret welding symbols, inspect finished work, and document production activities. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with aluminum TIG welding.
• Ability to produce clean, consistent welds on thin and thick aluminum.
• Fluency in reading fabrication drawings and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run aluminum TIG (GTAW) equipment for production and custom builds.
• Weld components to drawings, fixtures, and WPS with an emphasis on repeatability.
• Work in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as needed.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work instructions, and fabrication drawings accurately.
• Fit, align, clamp, and tack parts to control distortion prior to final welding.
• Verify tolerances using calipers, squares, tape measures, gauges, and dedicated fixtures.
• Prep, clean, and grind aluminum before and after welding to ensure weld quality.
• Maintain high standards for appearance, penetration, distortion control, and dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect finished weldments to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
• Record production activities and in-process quality checks.
• Perform routine equipment care and report tooling or equipment issues promptly.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping practices at all times.
