Job summary

General Devices Co Inc is seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join our fabrication team on the Southeast side of Indianapolis. The role focuses on welding aluminum, stainless, and mild steel to exacting tolerances from blueprints and detailed specs.

Overtime is available; pay is based on experience. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, welding to drawings, inspecting welds, and maintaining tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years welding or metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Previous aluminum TIG welding experience required.
• Strong TIG welding skills with emphasis on weld quality and consistency.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience with welding tools, fabrication equipment and measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld aluminum components and assemblies per blueprints and job specs.
• Fabricate finished metal products and welded assemblies for various applications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, schematics and travelers.
• Position components to ensure proper alignment and dimensional accuracy.
• Measure materials and assemblies to verify specifications.
• Inspect welds for quality, appearance, penetration and dimensions.
• Identify and correct fit-up and welding issues as needed.
• Operate welding equipment safely and keep area clean and organized.
• Support other departments when workload requires.
